 | Looks great but kind of delicate by: anonymous from: -, - on: May 10, 2010 |
| | When I received this console it came in 1 heavy box and one really heavy box. Building it was no problem as well. I didn't put on the back because I wanted easy access to the back of my receiver. The back does have holes for wiring but I have way too many connections to manage back there. It looks great but it's easily damaged by stuff like a screwdriver you put down on the surface while trying to find a screw. The biggest problems I had with it was one of the doors started falling apart about 2 weeks after I put it together. I can only assume it's because the receiver inside that shelf puts out a lot of heat and the wood expanded and disconnected from the dowels used to assemble the door. I used some wood glue and put it back together so hopefully it won't happen again. Also the screws used to put on the knobs for the doors are barely long enough to travel through the wood and mate with the knob on the other end. One of the knobs is stripped at the start so I have to go to the hardware store and find a longer screw with the same thread pitch. Aside from that stuff it does look great so good luck!
